Why Lifeskills Deserves Your Vote
At Lifeskills, we firmly believe that every child and young person deserves the opportunity to live safely in their home and community. Our safety education programmes equip children and young people with practical skills necessary to make safe, informed decisions and respond effectively to emergencies, preventing accidents and saving lives.
With a venue designed as a lifelike village, participants experience an exciting and diverse range of realistic scenes and situations. This immersive environment helps them gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence they can apply in the real world. Topics include:
● First Aid: Participants learn how to handle an emergency first aid situation and the equipment they can use to save a life including making a simulated call to the emergency services. This training not only builds confidence but also empowers individuals to act swiftly and effectively in real-life emergencies.
● Fire Safety: Our fire safety training educates young people on electrical and other fire hazards, prevention techniques, safe escape routes. By fostering fire safety awareness, we aim to minimise the risk of fires and ensure young people can respond calmly and effectively in the event of a fire.
● Water Safety: Bristol and the surrounding areas have numerous waterways, making water safety education paramount. Our water safety training teaches young people about the dangers of inland and coastal water, safe practices, and how to stay afloat in an emergency. Equipping young people with this knowledge can prevent drowning and water-related accidents.
● Road Safety: Road safety is a serious concern, especially for young people. Our training educates participants on safe pedestrian practices, road and in-car safety.
which significantly reduces the risk of accidents and injuries, creating a safer community for everyone.
● Personal Health and Safety: Our personal safety training addresses a variety of topics, including staying safe whilst out and about, alcohol and vaping, drug and online exploitation. We empower young people to develop strategies to protect themselves and make informed decisions in potentially risky situations.
The skills we impart have the potential to be life-saving. By voting for Lifeskills in the MFVC poll, you’ll be directly contributing to:
● Equipping a greater number of children and young people with the knowledge and confidence to act decisively in emergencies. This could mean the difference between life and death in a critical situation.
● Reducing the number of preventable accidents and injuries within our community. By empowering young people with essential safety skills, we can create a safer environment for everyone.
● Building a more resilient and secure future for the younger generations. Equipping young people with life-saving skills fosters a sense of self-reliance and empowers them to navigate challenges with confidence.
