Home About us

Since our opening in January 2000 by HRH Princess Anne, Lifeskills has trained over 200,000 individuals, establishing itself as a trusted leader in safety education. Each year, over 11,000 children and young people benefit from our life-saving programs.

Why Our Work Matters: Accidents claim around 14,000 lives annually in the UK and cause serious injuries to over 700,000 people in England alone. The cost to the state is staggering, with accidental injuries costing between £20-30 billion every year (RoSPA, Big Book of Accident Prevention). Research shows that those in deprived areas are at even greater risk.

Prevention is Key—and It’s Achievable. Accident prevention is simple, effective, and offers huge savings for the NHS. At Lifeskills, we offer a unique, immersive learning experience where children and young people practice in realistic, safe scenarios. From homes and roads to rivers and railway lines, we recreate everyday environments that help people learn how to avoid and navigate dangers in an ever changing modern world.

Our Mission: Empowering Safer Lives We believe injury prevention shouldn’t come at the cost of living a full and active life. Lifeskills encourages independence by giving children and young people the confidence and knowledge to make smart decisions.
