Celebrating Creativity at the Look Draw Build@Bristol Station Awards Night

Home About us News Celebrating Creativity at the Look Draw Build@Bristol Station Awards Night

We had a fantastic evening at Engine Shed for the Look Draw Build@Bristol Station Awards Night, hosted by Reading Civic Society. The event celebrated the creative achievements of local primary school pupils who took part in the Look Draw Build project—an inspiring initiative encouraging children to engage with architecture, engineering and placemaking through model making.

Throughout the evening, guests were treated to a wonderful display of the children’s work. Each model railway station reflected a unique vision, with fantastic attention to detail, thoughtful layouts, and impressive use of materials. From imaginative transport links to carefully considered passenger spaces, it was clear just how much effort and enthusiasm had gone into every design.

It was a pleasure to join pupils, parents, teachers and special guests in recognising all that had been achieved. The evening had an extra touch of magic with a visit from Mr Brunel himself—reminding us of Bristol’s rich engineering heritage and the power of creative thinking.

Lifeskills was proud to support this celebration of hands-on learning, and we loved seeing young people exploring ideas that connect design, safety, and how we move through the world around us.

A huge thank you to Reading Civic Society for the invitation, and congratulations to all the talented designers who took part—we can’t wait to see what you build next!
